Head Coach-O’Terrica Mathis
Terrica Mathis brings a strong athletic, academic, and coaching background to Thunderbird Legacy Volleyball Club. Originally from Pflugerville, Texas, she played volleyball for Connally High School, helping lead multiple playoff runs during her career. She also competed at the club level with Austin Juniors Volleyball and Texas Eclipse Volleyball (now Roots Volleyball).
In addition to volleyball, Terrica competed in AAU basketball and participated in two national tournaments. She later continued her athletic career at the University of Oklahoma as a rower, where she further developed her discipline, teamwork, and competitive mindset.
Her coaching experience includes high school summer league coaching, youth athlete development through the Elgin Little Spikes program, and club volleyball coaching focused on skill progression and athlete confidence. She also remains active in the sport through competitive 4-on-4 volleyball at the YMCA.
Terrica holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a focus on Child Psychology and a Master’s degree in Communication and Public Relations. Her coaching philosophy emphasizes confidence, communication, mental wellness, and helping athletes grow both on and off the court.

Assistant Coach-Kara Parker
Kara Parker serves as Assistant Coach and brings strong leadership, service, and organizational experience to Thunderbird Legacy Volleyball Club. She is a former United States Navy Petty Officer who served six years on active duty, where she developed strong leadership, teamwork, and mentorship skills that continue to influence her coaching style today.
Kara’s passion for volleyball has remained a constant throughout her life. She played competitively for eight years and graduated in 2012 after earning recognition during her high school career as a libero, including a Top 327 national ranking in digs during the 2010–11 season, while also ranking among the top defensive players in Texas and Region III. Her athletic background reflects the work ethic, leadership, and determination she now brings into coaching.
Shortly after graduating high school, Kara began coaching and assisting both middle school and high school volleyball programs, helping develop athletes at multiple levels of competition. Over the past three years, she has continued coaching recreational league volleyball with multiple teams ranging from 1st through 6th grade athletes. Her coaching philosophy focuses on building confidence, teamwork, discipline, and a genuine love for the game in every athlete she works with.
Kara holds a Bachelor of Science in General Studies and a Master of Science in Information Technology. She also holds graduate certificates in Human Resource Management and Leadership of Nonprofit Organizations. Her leadership background, passion for mentorship, and dedication to youth development help create a supportive, encouraging, and structured environment for athletes and families within Thunderbird Legacy Volleyball Club.

Club Director-Katrina Albarran
Katrina Albarran serves as the Director and President of Thunderbird Legacy Volleyball Club, where she combines her passion for youth development, community impact, and organizational leadership to help build opportunities for athletes in the Elgin area.
Originally from Indiana and a Texas resident since 2014, Katrina earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Western Governors University. Her professional background includes years of leadership experience in operations, customer service, business development, and safety management within a Fortune 400 company. Throughout her career, she has held leadership roles including Director of Operations and Service Manager.
In addition to her professional experience, Katrina has experience coaching youth recreational volleyball, where she developed a passion for mentoring young athletes and helping them build confidence, teamwork, and discipline through sports.
Katrina brings extensive experience in team leadership, program development, operational strategy, and relationship building — skills that directly support the growth and success of Thunderbird Legacy Volleyball Club. She is CPR and First Aid certified and has completed additional safety and compliance training through OSHA and ANSI-related programs, reinforcing her commitment to athlete safety and organizational excellence.
While her background is rooted in business and leadership, Katrina’s vision for Thunderbird Legacy is centered on creating a positive, disciplined, and empowering environment where young athletes can grow both on and off the court. As both a leader and parent, she is passionate about building a strong volleyball culture that develops confidence, character, accountability, and community.
